can be wickedly cool. As is the case with in-the-middle-of-it
Slits guitarist Viv Albertine. She grew up in the British Punk
scene while being a huge fan of Yoko Ono and John Lennon = open-minded
artistic sort meets anarchy.
she’s not my kind of friend, but, what fun she had being
so emotionally vague and fashionably forward, while making herself
learn that guitar-thing!
honestly about her poor childhood and its affects – often
self-admitted or not. In a very neat step, Viv ads what she was
wearing at any given time to her tale. To many this may seem odd.
But, to gals into the late ‘70s punk fashion, it’s
like a muse of Vivian Westwood dolloping an already swell read
with the proverbial Warhol-esque cherry atop; clothes over food
could be Albertine’s motto.
You get some
insight of how she began her role in the punk scene and a few
famous beaus she hung with. I still have to stop and gag over
Johnny Rotten’s “stale” genitals. Um, kinda
knew it…but, now it’s burned into my cranium. And
loved to read about Mick Jones and his remarkable self awareness
and willingness to "fade" into backgrounds to let his
music breath life; many Clash fans get what I mean, and I adore

helluva story by one helluva tough vulnerable chickbabe. And,
it’s not just for chicks. But, yeah, its bend is more girl
