The Donna Reed Show
Season Three

Donna Reed in "The Donna Reed Show" exemplifies America as it wished to be seen. It's like the anti-Noir showing of the "dream."

Donna Reed, aka Donna Stone, first aired in 1958. The show ran for eight years, earned four Emmy Award nominations and provided a Golden Globe to Ms. Reed as Best Female Star.

By the time the show ended there were 274 episodes in all. This set, just in time for the 2009 holiday gift giving, you will find the show's third season in tact. Thirty-eight full episodes, plus bonus features.

For season three, we join the Stones as Mary is trying to learn how to drive...yikes! The times they are a changin' too. Donna wants to start her own business (goodness what a liberated wench!). Donna also meddles in on foreign policy (as close as she'll ever get) by helping a young Japanese Geisha acquaintance to be more firm-handed when dealing with the American-bred husband.

The set is uber delish for fans of the show. And folks into TV's sensation, "Mad Men," will love the set production and some-what hokey situations of this version of American suburbia.

Life's uncomfortable solutions all seemed to be able to bubble to a frown-inducing froth in 27 minutes, and laid to rest within the twenty-eighth. For America's gals like Mrs. Stone, the day's toughest dilemma wove around which Jell-O brand mold to choose for the week's card night.

And, this third-season set is extra special for the die-hard fans: They have a few wonderful bonus features along side the 38 episodes. You get a 2008 Q&A with Mary Owen who played Donna Reed's daughter and Paul Peterson (Jeff Stone), belts out his memorable tune, " My Dad," in front of a live audience.

Another bonus is a heart-warming note to Donna Reed from a WWII soldier! And a never-before-seen Christmas greeting from the cast after the "Someone is Watching," episode.

The 38 full episodes include many famous faces too. You'll see Harvey Korman, Jack Albertson, Jay North and more.
